Game settings

The Game settings are your way of telling the engine how to play the game. You can select the possible play types for each down, including the play direction. You can open the settings by clicking set in your games overview.

Please note: The settings have to be stored at least one hour before the kickoff occurs. If you miss the deadline to save your settings, the engine will try to play by using the default settings, and if they are not available by choosing random play calling with random players.

In order to most effectively run your game plan, you should also create a Depth chart, and you should set up the threshold for substitutions based on Fitness / Energy. This will make your game play more balanced.

The game settings are overridden in a game if a playbook setting matches a game situation.

You should create a default game tactic and store it. If you forget to store settings for a game, the engine will use the default set to calculate the game play. Having a default set makes it also easier for you, since you need to reload and store this default set only once per game setting instead of making all the settings by hand.

In the game settings there is the play intensity available. The 3 stages we have are: relaxed, normal and match of the year.

From Season 19 Day 44 the use of play intensity is not supported anymore! To be very clear: MOTY and relaxed are supported anymore! All the text below is a thing from the past, and you can ignore the italic text safely.

relaxed (factor 0.8)
  • lowers all trainable skills
  • Free to play Friendlies: lowers PC hit and experience boost
  • Official games: lowers morale boost, PC hit and experience boost
  • There is no play intensity related change of experience and PC on Friendly cup games or Friendly games you have to pay Credits for

normal (factor 1.0)
  • trainable skills stay
  • Free to play Friendlies: PC hit and experience boost stay
  • Official games: morale boost, PC hit and experience boost on official games stay

match of the year (factor 1.02-1.05)
  • raises all trainable skills
  • Free to play Friendlies: raises PC hit and experience boost
  • Official games: raises morale boost, PC hit and experience boost on official games
  • There is no play intensity related change of experience and PC on Friendly cup games or Friendly games you have to pay Credits for

In game settings presets and default game settings this value is not available, it stays at normal then. In Friendly Cup games (not in normal Friendlies on Friday, for example) the play intensity stays on normal, no matter what you've set. Please note there is only ONE chance to play Match of the Year per game type and season, except for Friendlies (not Friendly Cup where this setting is not available!!!), and the settings is available for you once you are playing RedZoneClash for at least 90 days! Be careful when selecting this setting, it could be that you use that single opportunity too early in your season. There is no MOTY available in the Leagues Playoff / Bowl, Champ of Champs cup and in Friendly Cups.

When playing MOTY (Match of the Year) the permanent hit on physical condition is much higher than you could gain by training, no matter which facilities you are using and what the level of your staff is. Be careful!
Another way of explaining the same thing: (have to make it nice)

Friendly, free to play: Morale hit no, XP hit yes, PC hit yes, hits based on Play intensity yes, Play intensity available yes, As many "MOTY" games as you like (same game type as "Friendly, NOT free to play")

Friendly, NOT free to play: XP hit no, PC hit no, hits based on Play intensity no, Play intensity available yes, As many "MOTY" games as you like (same game type as "Friendly, free to play")

Friendly Cup: Morale hit no, XP hit no, PC hit no, hits based on Play intensity no, Play intensity available no

All other: Morale hit yes, XP hit yes, PC hit yes, hits based on Play intensity yes, Play intensity available yes, As many "MOTY" games as you like: no, only 1 per type

Notice on "all other"

league games (on wildcard, divisional, conference championship and Bowl there is no MOTY available)
