a.) there are settings saved for the games or b.) your default game settings stored |

I've just checked.... this is one of the games in question:
Click here 3:09 to go in the 1st Quarter Opponent's 23 yard line. Settings were saved, with a playbook that was totally blank. Was set to kick a field goal within 35 yards. So surely this is a bug? |

As bellj already mentioned on the first page, those 35 yards is not the distance from the LOS to the goal line, it's the FG distance, so you have to add 7 yards (7 yards behind the LOS) + 10 yards (the endzone). As long as you are not within 17 yards before the opponent endzone, the 4th down will be punted. |

Funny how you can s e l e c t less than 5 - that must be from the -12yd line? And no FG greater than 50yd?

We'll perhaps then in the game settings, when you click the question mark next to the punting settings, you actually get some information because at the moment when you click that it just comes up as error.
