This is the 5th start into a season, and the schedule that was published past Sunday was received with joyous feelings. As of now, due to the Arizona Cardinals joining the AC East, the Devil Dolphins will play 9 games against teams with proper management.
They play both teams that they met in the playoffs of S70, being the Jailhouse Rockers (who they beat) in week 6 and the Magpies (who they'll probably never beat) in week 15. To start the new campaign the Dolphins play the other team from the AC West, the Long Island Islanders, and near middle of the season they play both teams from the NC East, the Michigan Weasel Traders and the Barossa Vines, back to back. And then, of course, there's the Litany Zone in the AC East, too, reigning Super Bowl champion of the Broncos league. We've been coming close to steal one from them, but there still has to be a lot of luck involved. We will make it hard for them, that's a promise. Before that there's the draft coming up, with the first round early tomorrow. There are some promising prospects atop the board, and we're curious which one we will get. Have a good draft, everyone |

We hope everyone had a good Draft over the course of these past days. The Devil Dolphins had a pretty good one, getting their #1 selections in the first and the second round, and even the third round brought a strong player to the team.
In the first round they picked a Quarterback for the future. They may not have had the most glaring need at the position, with starter Richard Sinapati constantly improving and back-up Jiang Ang getting stronger, too. But Romuald Schulz (formerly known as Pablo Lleig) already has great physical abilities, despite being only 19 years of age, and is a gifted thrower of the football with a strong arm. He will have time to develop behind those two mentioned prior, but we’re confident that he will be ready to roll rather sooner than later. In the second round the Dolphins picked Roman Klein (formerly known as Travis Herrera), a 21yo defensive player who’s a real slippery dude, despite being of heavyweight build. He is a talented player and has exceptional physical traits, so it may not be long until he plays in meaningful games. The third pick was used on Full Back Zanka Rauschenberg from Denmark. He is a slippery player who might not have that high of a ceiling, when push comes to shove, but he already has a pretty high floor due to his remarkable physical skills. It will take some time to get him ready, but he is still a very young player, so time is not an issue. Tonight we had our second preseason game, this time against the Blue Bunnies. The first game at the Barossa Vines was a close one and ultimately decided by a FG in the last minute, which made it 33:31 in favor of the home team. Against the Bunnies they were able to hold on to a narrow lead until the end of the game. And tomorrow the new season begins with an encounter with the Long Island Islanders. Maybe we’ll be able to start with a win into the season… |

So, the Islanders are no properly managed team anymore

Somewhere around the start of the 4th quarter in the league game today a thought came up that there might have been made a grave mistake by the coaching staff of the Devil Dolphins in how they approached the encounter with the Arizona Cardinals today.
The game was won, yes, even by an ok-ish margin of 32 points. But at the end of the season these might have been too few as the battle for the playoffs for sure will come down to points differential again. We are aware that the Long Island Islanders are no longer battling with us. But it’s 6 seeds for 7 properly run franchises in the AC, so PD still will be crucial to get to the postseason. The mistake made by the coaching stuff clearly was approaching this game as any other game against not properly run teams. But they disregarded that the Cardinals were, at least for a short amount of time, managed not that long ago… so there still’s something like a spirit in the squad. It is a tough line to balance, wanting to be competitive and successful versus trying to push experience for the players and make them better. The front office of the Devil Dolphins and the Head Coaching Staff are already in close dialogue about the direction in which the franchise will move, based on these new realisations. The next two opponents, though, make decisions on who to play pretty easy, as the team has two games on the road, against the Sierra Nevada first, before they visit the reigning Champ Litany Zone. |

The Devil Dolphins are back in regular season business after an early bye week with 6 games played and 10 to go. In between these 6 games there was the first encounter with the Bowl winner Litany Zone as their only game against human competition.
As expected the Dolphins lost once again, but it was another close one. The defense was able to hold the opponent to 24 points, but scoring only 14 points themselves just isn't enough to win in such games. Maybe we get them later in the season, when they visit us in Week 17 Next up for the Devil Dolphins are two games in a row against human led competition: Today we face the Michigan Weasel Traders at home, then we visit the Barossa Vines on the road. The game at home may be the easier one since the Weasel Trader still have a bit of work to do building the roster. The game against the Vines will be much harder. We were able to win against them last season. But they do have a 2–1 record in games against human competition already, having beaten the Paxtang Black Panthers and the Weasel Traders and even lead against the Guinness Drinkers until late in third quarter. So we'll have to bring our A-game to Barossa to have a chance against them. Good luck to everyone today |
