The most crucial stretch of the season begins for the Devil Dolphins today as we're trippin' to (and through?) the L Zone in the UK, home of our division opponent Litany Zone, for the first of our two regular match-ups.

These two games easily are our biggest regular season challenges, and it is our mission to get the playoff home game one day. But it would be foolish to think we'd be able to accomplish this feat this season already. We may 11–1 right now, but strong competition usually has the upper hand against us still. We're getting there, slowly but shirley... it's just not enough as of now to beat the big guys.

But we'll see. I'd be content with not getting totally blown out, maybe we even manage to score twice this time.

However: Good luck to everyone today

With only 2 regular season games to play the Devil Dolphins showed some troublesome performances as of late. And as euphoric as some fans may have been after the win against the Dolphins Pisa, the realization that this team is by no means capable of competing with the big boys still must be a crushing one. But it’s the truth that, as well as the defense at times performs, an offensive spectacle still remains to be experienced.

That’s for sure why the OC of the Devil Dolphins was not available for any questions after the past game against the Blue Bunnies, with his head coach telling the media that „he will be given time to look up what went wrong there. He is obligated to deliver some answers, though, because it does not look good, right? But no pressure…“. And with that he pointed out the still young state of the team and the obvious difference in player strength to these teams that they lost to.

That notion, though, did not instill much confidence in his listeners for the upcoming games. They will have the Litany Zone as last opponent of this regular season at home, after that they’ll have to visit the Blue Bunnies in the Wildcard Round of the Playoffs. And if the game tonight is any indication they will not repeat their feat of winning the first game in the playoffs.

But maybe the OC has come up with something special then…

The regular season is over, and the Devil Dolphins enter the postseason a bit proud off their last game against the Litany Zone. Yes, they again lost, but they weren’t dominated like the last few encounters they had with their division opponent. The Dolphins even were able to take the lead in the second quarter. The defense again had a phenomenal game and only allowed 13 first downs for the reigning AC Conference champion in the first, 9 more in the second half.

It was the offense again that failed to get going properly and beyond that gifted points to the opponent. QB Richard Sinapati did pass for over 160 Yards, but did not get the ball to his receivers properly, thus failing to throw even one TD Pass the whole game. Instead he threw the ball to the opposing defense again which was then converted to 7 points, taking the lead to 19:6 for the Litany Zone and well out of reach for the home team. They did outscore the visitors 9:7 in Q4, but that was of course not enough to make it exciting again.

So the Dolphins will meet the Blue Bunnies on Wildcard Saturday. A friendly game played on Feb. 9th did show that the Bunnies, who finished the regular season with a record of 11–5, are a tough match-up. Their advantage over the Dolphins is clearly the strong core of experienced players on every position, led by 5-Star-QB Cecilio Soler. So it will need an intricate scheme to stop them from scoring and a flawless game by the Dolphins Offense, or they won’t be able to repeat what they accomplished last season by advancing to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Good luck to everyone in the postseason

I thought I would pop in here quick and say hello to y'all. I am new to this game but have played a few others. A couple of things I like so far is the mentor thing. It gave me great insight into the start of the game and as such already have a win under my belt. I love the detailed but not overly complicated "old school" interface.

I ain't gonna lie, I am not very chatty, mainly because I travel a lot for work and I am on call 24/7.

I look forward to playing.

@Tiresias: Welcome to RZC

As expected the Devil Dolphins dropped out of the Playoffs on Saturday after losing to the Blue Bunnies. They turned the ball over on the 3rd play of their first possession which resulted in a Pick6, and they could not recover from that. In fact they failed to score until Q4 when they finally finished a drive. Twice they came close before but were not able to get points on the board. The defense again did it's job, the offense again failed to deliver.

It's getting mildly frustrating...

With the bowl game tonight S69 in the Broncos league comes to a close, and look who's playing: The White Apes again made it to the big game, eliminating the Barossa Vines, the Paxtang Black Panthers (both by only allowing one Field Goal the entire game) and the mighty BobBoy Magpies on their way. Unlike the last bowl games, though, they do not face the Litany Zone, but the Jailhouse Rockers today. And we're all eager to see if the latter will be able to do what the Zone could not, which is beating the Apes in the last game of the season.

For the Devil Dolphins it was another step forward as we we're able to win one more game against human competition than last season... but we're still a few miles away from really annoying the big guys. We hoped we would be there faster, but it still needs time. We'll see what happens next season

Good luck for the bowl game tonight to both participants

Thanks Marti, I really enjoy reading your commentary.
I too wish VinceEverett and his Jailhouse Rockers the best of luck today. I'm almost hoping he does win , I'm beginning to feel a bit guilty.

In other news: The Devil Dolphins finished the season on a high note as they were able to win their friendly match-up at the Blue Bunnies 19:13
