The past few games brought some interesting insight of the problems that the team struggles with the most. And the biggest problem is still that the Devil Dolphins have a hard time moving the ball offensively. Granted: It WAS the youngest QB, 18 year old Jiang Ang, that played the games to gain experience, so it’s tough to tell if regular starting QB Richard Sinapati would have had more luck. But even he would not have been able to prevent the many drops that the WR-Corps of the Dolphins produced during the two games against the Litany Zone and the BobBoy Magpies. Throwing three interceptions per game does of course not help either, though.

It is a shame that the offense does not deliver properly, as the Defense is doing fantastic jobs all the while. The Litany Zone was held to 10 points until late in the 3rd quarter, and the defensive performance in the game against the Magpies was very good as well. So the main objective continues to be to get the offense ready to make more positive plays. Training looks very promising, and the squad is on a good path to be better next season.

Maybe it even get’s a chance to prove the progress this Postseason. The Devil Dolphins battle for seed #6 with the Dolphins Pisa and Markham Blues AFC1, being ranked at #7 after this second-to-last gameday. BUT: In a fortunate turn of events the one team that currently has the #6 seed, the Dolphins Pisa, has to visit the Creator to finish the season… for a game in which the home team still battles for first place in the division, too.

This game will decide if the Devil Dolphins get their first postseason appearance in the history of this franchise. Getting in would, although some may think it is not properly earned, be a fitting end to the career of several players that will retire at the end of this season. This way they would be granted at least one final game in which they can bow out on the biggest stage, being rewarded for many season of hard work and tough grinding to help the team get to where they are now.

The Devil Dolphins are prepared for the last game of the regular season, welcoming Sierra Nevada to the Fun Arena. It should be a fairly easy game in which the squad can thank the faithful spectators for their support over the course of the season and let the retirees play one last time at home before riding into the sunset after the season.

Of course a lot of attention will go to the game Dolphins Pisa @ Guinness Drinkers United, as the outcome of this game will determine if the Devil Dolphins are joining the playoffs this season. It would be a sweet reward for the squad and all the work they have put into getting better up to this point.

Good luck to everyone today

When the whistle was blown to end the game today the stadium erupted in the display of sheer joy by the fans of the Devil Dolphins. Not only had the team beaten Sierra Nevada, through the loss of the Dolphins Pisa they even climbed to the #6 seed of the AC Conference and are now bound for the very first playoff berth in franchise history.

There they will meet the Long Island Islanders, and it will be for the second time this season that these two teams meet. The Devil Dolphins had to visit them in Week 3 of the regular season and were beaten pretty bad, 7:35. They had a pretty good game, it even ended with the Dolphins having more first downs than the Islanders. But Dolphins-QB Pavel Karpov threw 4 INTs in the second half, which eviscerated all the effort that the squad had put into the game prior to these.

Throwing interceptions, as mentioned before, is still a problem for the Devil Dolphins, despite having QB Richard Sinapati at the helm now. But maybe he will have a shining moment next Saturday. It will pretty much depend on the productivity of the offense and the abilty to not turn the ball over, since the defense is doing an amazing job these past game days.

So now it's about getting the team back to being physically fit and for the Coordinators to set up a clever plan. Maybe we are able to make a little magic happen

A quick look at the Wildcard round

Blue Bunnies (13-3) @ Guinness Drinkers United (13-3)
Should be a great game, they split their 2 League matches this season. Drinkers United have won the last 2 Conference Championship games but the Bunnies have won their last 2 Playoff meetings. It's the Drinkers #3 pass offense vs the Bunnies #4 run offense.
Final Score: Blue Bunnies 28 Guinness Drinkers Unites 32

BobBoy Magpies (14-2) @ Alaskan Gold Miners (13-3)
Lets face it BobBoy's Magpies have owned my Miners but all is not lost. Our last 2 games have gone into overtime & we've split them. The Magpies #1 pass offense vs the Miners #2 rush defense.
Final: BobBoy Magpies 35 Alaskan Gold Miners 32

Devil Dolphins (10-6) @ Long Island Islanders (13-3)
Not to much history between 2 teams yet between the long time Islanders and the upstart Dolphins. The Islanders have won both the previous meetings. The Devil Dolphins have a big hill to climb but that's why we play. The Islanders #2 pass offense vs The dolphins #8 rush defense.
Final: Devil Dolphins 26 Long Island Islanders 36

Mannings Madness (12-4) @ Paxtang Black Panthers (13-3)
The Madness are 3 & 0 against the Panthers since season 59. This is thier first playoff meeting. The Madness #1 pass defense vs the Panthers #8 rush defense.
Final: Paxtang Black Panthers 32 Mannings Madness 32.15

Final scores are simply taking the average points per game for offense & defense, adding a teams avg. per game offense to their opponents avg. per game defense & dividing by 2 so don't going laying any bets.

Best of luck to all the teams

I don't see us scoring 26 points, but we'll take it

Good luck, everyone

What a win for the Devil Dolphins yesterday on the long islands along the coast of north Scotland. The Defense came up big in this game, and while they may only have had 2 big defensive plays for the highlight reel, they held the Islanders to 15 First Downs all game and allowed only 267 yards of total offense. This great performance on the defensive side of the ball even allowed the Devil Dolphins to lose the turnover battle in this game, because the opponent was only allowed to score 10 points from the 3 interceptions that our QB again threw.

It’s great to see that the progress that the squad made over the course of the season can pay off if everything falls the right way. We didn’t even lose any of the fumbles we had today, instead recover them and once even get a new first down from one of those recoveries. These things didn’t happen at the beginning of the season.

Beyond that the OC is very satisfied with the way the playbook worked. There were even quite simple solutions to not get into situations to turn the ball over that much, which were implemented right away. So the progress goes on to become even more competitive.

The first playoff win in franchise history was celebrated yesterday, and it will be celebrated today. But then we will prepare for the next game on Tuesday, our first Divisional Playoff game. It’s going to be at the reigning Conference Champion Litany Zone, and we met them twice already this season, of course losing both games. We got a bit closer in the second game, though, and maybe we can make it exciting this time

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah

Ladies & gentlemen the following is not meant to be some kind of deep dive into the statistical nuances of each team. It's more about giving each their due for making this far this season. From the new comers to the old timers there are no easy or sure games.

Divisional Playoffs Season 68

Alaskan Gold Miners (14-3) vs. Barossa Vines (14-2)
The Miners fly 1/2 way around the world to Williamstown Australia. The weather is expected to be 67 F, 19 C & overcast.
The Vines are having an outstanding season 68 & seem ready to make a Championship run. This game will feature the Miners #2 Rush Defense vs the Vines #2 ranked Rush Offense. The Overalls favor the Miners by 6.5. The score averages says the Vines by 5.3.

Devil Dolphins (11-6) vs. Litany Zone (15-1)
The Zone first full season was 64 & have since sky rocketed to 2 Conference Championships in their short history & are wanting a 3rd. The Cinderella Devil Dolphins season continues thanks to their upset Wildcard win. Zones #1 Run Defense vs Dolphins #10 Rush Offense. With a Zone 15.3 better Overall rating & score average saying Zone by 6.1 the Dolphins may have to call on the Devil to have a chance against the Litany of prayers & chants.

Guinness Drinkers United (14-3) vs. Jailhouse Rockers (13-3)
These teams have only met 4 times but 2 of them being Divisional Playoff games which they split. The league game this season saw the Drinkers run the score up for a big win. Drinkers #3 Pass Offence vs the Rockers #11 Pass Defense. The Drinkers United are a +3.9 according to the Overall, but scoring averages give the Rockers a slight 3.6 advantage.

Mannings Madness (13-4) vs. White Apes (16-0)
The weather in the Cambridge Ontario area will be a brisk 39 F/ 4 C possibility or a drizzle.
What can be said about Skeetz White Apes, 3 straight League Championships, 38 straight wins (Playoff & League games). But ... The Madness have competed well against the Apes. Having met in 2 prior Divisional Playoffs they split & have also split 2 meetings in the Conference Championship game. The White Apes #1 Running Offence vs Madness #1 Pass Defense. The White Apes have a razor thin advantage in the Overall of +2.1 while scoring average also favors the Apes by 6.5.

Heres for 4 close exciting games, Good Luck to all 8 teams.

Thanks for the overview. We'll be trying to show our best abilities today, and hope that luck will be on our side again... although it would be highly unlikely if this lightning strikes twice over the course of such a short time

Good luck to you, too
