A new season comes around faster than lightning in this game, huh?

Welcome to S68 in the Broncos League

With this being the second real season for the Devil Dolphins we are eager to see how far we have come over last weeks. Team chemistry is up for the most part, here and there some points are still missing. But overall we're far better equipped than last season when all the great players had just joined the team.

The Defense had their moments in S67 already, and Preseason Game 1 looked not that bad either. It was the Offense that turned over the ball time and time again, and at this point it is not even relevant to look for formations that should be avoided, as the squad produces Fumbles and Interceptions from all kinds of plays. Only with training will we get this out of the system.

This training is set up to serve the gameplan that the OC drew up red-eyed in a late-night session. Now the team needs to learn and execute. Drafting the right players for this plan is mandatory, too, so the front office of the Devil Dolphins already eagerly awaits the first round of the Draft tomorrow to see if they are able to get the players they want.

We hope everyone has a good draft, but we even more hope that ours is the best

Good luck!

The Devil Dolphins are happy to announce that they got their #1 overall prospect in the first round of the Draft: RB Matteo Sauer (formerly known as Pra Plaphol) joined the team and will get to know everything important over the course of the next days, while working to get his physical condition up to par.

Drafting a Running Back was one of the biggest needs the Devil Dolphins had to see met, as the new management inherited not a bad, but an old HB room when they took over the team in S66. And just at the beginning of this season RB Aleskandr Schumacher, leading rusher last season with just over 1.000 Yards and 10 TDs, told the front office that he will retire after this season. But the coaching staff is confident that Matteo Sauer will be able to step in and contribute by then.

Now we'll see what Round 2 of the Draft has in store for us. Interestingly enough our #2 prospect is still sitting there. But a lot of other interesting players, too...

Draft Round #2 brought another RB to the Devil Dolphins, and the joy in the front office was enormous:

Not only were we able to pick our #2 overall selection today, but it is family that joined us: The young guy is the nephew of our FB-Coach, and as the Saro-Wiwa family is well known for awesome Back-Play, we do have high hopes for the future. The father of our Draftee is famous for making the sport popular on the west coast of Africa, with a style of rushing that made whole stadiums roar when he touched the ball. We'll see if his boy will bring the same intensity to our team as well.

Both our new Draftees will collect experience in todays Preseason Game #2 at the Jailhouse Rockers. It will be a nice test for the team altogether: We played them in the league last season and lost 10:20, but our Defense held them to only 14 First Downs and just one TD that they scored "themselves" (the other one being a Pick6 when our QB threw the Ball on our own 3 Yard line right to the defender). So we're quite curious what happens today.

The Draft is over, and Round 3 brought Christopher Koch (formerly known as Egor Khairullin) to the Devil Dolphins, a fast and pretty experienced CB to strengthen the Pass Defense.

His services will be needed. The Preseason games showed that the Devil Dolphins are prone to get beaten deep, as the QBs of the White Apes and the Jailhouse Rockers both had TDs where they were able to connect with their WRs way past the Line of Scrimmage.

Today's the last Preseason outing against the Blue Bunnies, all three Draftees will again have the chance to show what they got. Each RB that we drafted played 27 Snaps yesterday, and especially Saro-Wiwa had some great rushes. I'd not be surprised if he already plays on Saturday...

Well the White Apes going into this year are confident but looking at it as a farewell tour as they'll be losing many of their star players. General manager skeetz says"disappointed in our draft as a result we'll really need to keep an eye on the transfer market to fill those holes. We may need a season or two of rebuilding. We'll see how it goes". 😰

The Preseason is over, and the Devil Dolphins look forward to the regular season that starts today with the first game at their division opponent Copenhagen Swans.

The games played in the Preseason showed a lot of promise as the Devil Dolphins were able to score at least two Touchdowns against each of their opponents. Another point of knowledge gained is that the squad does still need some acclimation time entering a game, as they allowed the majority of points before the halftime break while scoring the majority of points themselves after the break in each of the match-ups.

The people responsible are in no panic, though, as the OC told the media in the press conference today: "We're totally aware of the fact that we still are the underdog in this league, as we have not accomplished much. It's this season that we want to make the others be aware of us, by playing hard and maybe even steal a win here and there. We'll constantly evaluate what we have, and once midseason comes around we'll have a look at what can be done to capitalize. But that's still in the future. Right now it's about going at it openminded and with fun, and we'll see what happens after that."

To a good season for everyone

When the Manager of the Devil Dolphins, marti_fx, was asked to respond to the news that the defending champion might struggle in the near future and the chances of the Devil Dolphins to catch up to them he said: "Yeah, I saw that, too. But to be honest: We are in no shape or form competitive to think about that right now. And even if the White Apes struggle... and that's a big "if" in my book, since there's a lot of experience to balance out a possible drop-off in combat strength... so IF they struggle there are still at least 6 teams that can fill their place in an instant. And as I understood their GM said this season they are still at full strength, so no one should be too surprised if they go into their rebuild with another title."

It's the first home game of the season today for the Devil Dolphins, and they welcome Mannings Madness. It'll be a tough game for the young squad, as the visitor comes in with a Defense loaded with great players. While the head coach of the Devil Dolphins told the media in the press conference leading up to the game that they of course will try to win, the general consensus is that it would be an achievement already if they can repeat what they did last season. They were able then to hold the opponent to only 23 points. And maybe they can themselves score more than 10 points this time.

Good luck for your games, everyone

The game on Tuesday against Mannings Madness was a dismantling in front of the home crowd, which was ok with it, though, because something like this was to be expected. But the defensive coordinating crew was a bit frustrated about letting the Madness score more points than last time, and only repeating the own points scored and not being able to do more was a bit "meh", too.

Today will be the first real test to see where the Devil Dolphins stand when they visit the Long Island Islanders at Murray Field, as they did last season. Then the Devil Dolphins even led going into the fourth quarter, only to fumble the ball twice in consecutive possessions with 8 minutes left on the clock. One fumble was returned to the house right away, on the second one the defense held the opponents offense to a FG. But it was for naught as they were not able to score any points after that. Hopefully the game goes better for us this time.

Good luck for everyone

Well, the game on Thursday left quite the bad taste for those responsible in the Devil Dolphins organisation, as they've deemed the team more competitive at this point than what was showed. Those attending the game were especially bewildered by the great amount of turnovers that the team produced, with a lost fumble on just their 3rd possesion and 4 (!!!) interceptions thrown by the QB. The latter was under heavy scrutiny after the game, and many openly asked for his replacement, as he has thrown 5 INTs already and only two TDs.

While a lot of things were questioned in the immediate wake after the game, it was discovered that many failures were results of the direction that the OC had set up. As the headcoach told the media on Friday, at least 2 INTs could have been avoided if the OC would have put the QB in a better situation for the plays... which he didn't do because he failed to string the plays together correctly.

Those things were already worked on for the past days, although it will not really matter for the game today, as the Devil Dolphins visit the title game participant of last season, Litany Zone, for the first of their two regular season meetings. Anything more than a way worse points differential after the game would be a big surprise. But those responsible constantly work on getting better... even if this means to keep the squad in a good mood despite having a losing record these days, regularly reminding them that there will come stretches of games that will be easier to win.

Good luck for everyone today
