If I read the manual correctly, with 550cp I only have exactly enough points to hire AC's for every position with 50 cp only ? So, Im left with some spots unfilled?

Not quite. The Head coach is included within the 550cp's.
The game was designed like this to encourage some strategy when hiring coaches. Some will be more important to a specific offensive strategy while others don't really matter so much  |

No actually the HC is not included so in theory you are correct Skeetz. However, the problem is that you cannot find coaches for 50 CP so that means in reality some spots will not get filled.
