Hi Pete/Everyone, just seen a play in my game today where both TE's blocked...
6:24 2 and 10 to go on own 20, Efrain Medley (OC) snaps the ball to Kurtis Gabriel (QB), who hands off to Edison Thomason (FB/R), he starts running over the center, Lathaphone Hecht (DE/R) breaks through, Jacob Boll (OLB/L) goes for the blitz, Rodney Maples (TE/R) blocks, Bo Case (TE/L) blocks, Edison Thomason (FB/R) tackled by Ahmic Svatoš (NT), forward progress: tackle for loss of 1 yards (Shotgun 2 WR vs. 3-3-5) I thought TE's only blocked in running plays and it's doesn't say who the TE's blocked but I'm assuming one blocked the DE that broke through and the other one blocked the OLB that was blitzing? They couldn't both be blocking for the runner as they are on opposite sides of the LOS... My question is if the TE blocked the OLB, then this would go against my thought that TE's only block for the runner? Let me know...NO guessing guys

It is not that strict. The TE "can decide" if he stays for blocking, or goes for his pass receiving route. There is a high possibility the TE will be a pass receiver on pass plays, yes. However, this is rush play, so what is your "problem" with thpse blocking TEs? Last edited on 2015-12-15 17:15:27 by pete |

No prob, was just told TE never blocked blitzers/DE's, only blocked in rushing, so now I know different.
They are quite useful, these TE's....sometimes  |
