But the source code delivers facts...and there is a big exception in the "load-players and skills module", where it is not using the home advantage calculation for the Bowl games as example. We doublechecked it, several times...

OK, look at it in a slightly different way :-

CofC consists (mainly) of Conference Champions , plus (possibly, one or two) 'new' teams that weren't Conf Champs but 'inherited' a CofC place when the original team went Bot.

So ... that should mean that most teams are on a very similar level. Therefore, if there is no homefield advantage, it would seem logical to expect an average of approx 50% wins by home teams .... maybe 60 or 70%, maybe even only 30% or 40% home wins.

But if the teams are (mostly) at a similar level and there is no homefield advantage .... why would 42 of 45 games be home wins ??

It doesn't seem logical to me .... I'd like somebody to explain the logic based upon the stats.

Occasionally you will get a run of 42/45 heads. That is all that has happened. It does indicate that Pete should look at the code and run some tests but he seems well ahead of me on that one, having stated he has done just that. How is stadium choice decided for these games out of curiosity?

Once again, read the manual. It mentions Bowls, and if there is any discussion it could have 2 topics...

1.) Is it possible to calculate statistical evidence out of 4 (!!!) Bowl Games?

2.) Should there be no home advantage in regular CoC games as well?

1, data too small maybe you could run a sim behind the scenes

2, No all homefield advantages should be removed from CoC games as no one has qualified by virtue of a seeding.

You're not the only team to lose against a Bot this season, several of the 'top teams' already have .... IMO, the new engine (this season) is not so good; it seems to have somehow "levelled the playing field" i.e. bots seem to be much harder to beat, and so do new teams that often don't even have a playbook/match settings.

Just seems wrong to me that a 60% team which has no game settings/playbook (or a bot) can almost match a 'top team' (72% plus) which has been around for 4+ seasons and has a reasonable playbook/game settings.

btw ... this isn't meant to be a whine, it's more of an observation (of how I've seen the first 3/4 games of the season) by looking at quite a few leagues and quite a few teams in these leagues.

or, to put it another way ..... I now prefer playing against 'human teams' because it seems that I have a more consistent chance of beating them.

Here is something else to consider ..... I was looking at several matches approximately a week ago, and I noticed one match where a team (a good team, a good established team who seem to know how to play this game) were sacked seven times by a Bot team ...... how weird is that ?

I'd be interested to know if you're happy with the current match engine, because I'm starting to have doubts about it.

The thing is: this engine was tested long long time in RZA, and did not produce any weird outcome. I guess I have to dig in the dark what is going on here...
