I'm having a little trouble understanding something with regard to the playbooks and how it's affecting the performance of my team.

So I have one playbook (terrible I know!) and I have my default tactics.

My understanding is that if I forget to actually set the tactics, the default tactics will kick in anyway (and it certainly appears so, as it seems to run the same formations as it would do as if I was physically going to set the tactics).

The only thing I do when I go to set the tactics manually is to click do not sub the QB.

Now, here's the odd thing. My team is infinitely better if I do not bother to set tactics. I always seem to get killed by other teams if I set the tactics I have. Yet if I don't set any tactics at all, I win or it's a very close game. I've tested this with friendlies where I know the other person is running the same tactics to the previous game.

Can anyone explain this? As when I go back to check what tactics were present if I didn't set any, it looks like my playbook was active and everything else was the same.

Without knowing anything about your tactics once they are set...impossible to answer.

But my point is, in theory, my team should perform the same if I actually physically set my default tactics or if I forget to set them and the default tactics should happen?

"Acting the same" is hard to measure..."same rating" could be one. Same tactics? Harly - it changes from game to game, and sometimes things work, sometimes they don't and the game runs into a different direction.

If your team is worse with having a playbook, I am sure you are making "mistakes". Maybe you should try to find weaknesses of your team to avoid them in the playbook, and strengths to focus on?
