It's nice that there is a draft, and I understand the need to constantly inject new players into the game, but not understanding the point when the quality of the player given isn't that great, in fact nowhere near that of players you could pick up for 2 credits. Why have a draft in fact when you could just used credits to pick up new players in this game?

To show you what I'm talking about, this is the player I got in the first round of the draft today at the age of 22, compared with a player in brackets I just randomly got from the players market who is 19!.

44.4 Strength (45.3)
46.6 Speed (50.0)
7.3 Agility (20.3)
22.6 Positioning (26.6)
38.3 Vision (38.5)
35.1 Tackling (37.8)
25.3 Teamwork (32.7)

He has got 50 intelligence though. And speed is capped. In fact he's the worst safety I have, and the oldest.

I might be wrong and there may have been some blinders that I missed, but right now, I don't understand the point of the draft in this version of the game. In RZA in the draft you get players on the whole who are better than most of the players you can produce yourself (unless you go crazy and concentrate on one guy for years in the youth academy).

Don't mean to sound negative, but just curious as to the logic here. Because now I can't actually sell the player, or have any benefit in dumping him.

Just noticed one thing... they're cheap and he's got 3 experience. Only plus points I can see. Maybe I am looking at this too early and drafts will take more of an effect once salaries start becoming silly?

Yeah, and considering the effort put into sorting for a draft.................

RZC is probably better off without a draft imo. That also trims it down more, making it less time intensive and more down to business with the games and tactics.

I agree. Haven't bothered scouting the draft, and the game doesn't need one.

Well, unless he boosts the rating of players in future drafts, how else would he make it better?

idk, i think its an interesting idea, i got a pretty good DL out of it, hes only 20 and 3.5 star and has 4 star talent, and i drafted 14th overall, so im pretty happy, i think the draft is a good way to add depth to your team but i do think the players that you can buy in the transfer market are better, but i dont mind getting decent young players for free

Are we going to get the opportunity to "sell" our drafted players? As mine are nowhere near as good as the players I already have, and I'm trying to decide what to do with them.

not yet...

Cant understand the statements...I am the leader in terms of the salary cap, this means I have probably not the worst roster. But I pulled a draftee that became a starter immediately.

Maybe I'm missing something, but when I compared all the players that I drafted to my backups, they weren't even close. Biggest thing is the agility. There were some where maybe their strength or speed caps were slightly higher and their main stats were close, but the agility was hugely lower. And by the time you've managed to train that up, compared to someone of the same age then it isn't worth it.

But then again, I changed my entire team through the transfer market at the beginning of last season and have one of the lowest average ages in the game. My salary is now hitting $3.8 million... which is why I did say earlier that one of the biggest advantages I can see is in future seasons when salary cap is beginning to be a problem, we're going to have to start thinking about cutting expensive backups and using the drafted players as they're cheap.

I'm keeping the drafted players for now, but there's not much reason to.
