S77 begins today and the Devil Dolphins continue their re-build. The Divisional Playoff game from last season against the Litany Zone made very obvious that the team is lacking depth on key positions still. But the Front Office already added some interesting players through draft and transfer market who will now get the opportunity to grow together.
It will still need time for them to be the team we want them to be, but it's set. And maybe sometime we will finally be able to hold up with the Zone and get past them. It would be a blast. Good luck for everyone in S77  |

3 games to go in this season, and we play the up to this point most important one today in the battle for the divisional crown:
The Ice Machine comes to visit Smash Troja Stadium today. Both teams have an equal record of 11–2, so whoever wins this game will likely be in front for the remainder of the regular season. The last encounter, sadly, did not go the way we expected, when we lost 10:35 at their place in Week 7. After 2 games in S76 that had been much closer we hope to find that mojo again and be competitive... it's due that we win the East again  |

Geez... led 13:10 with 4:29 to go in Q4, punted the ball greatly to their 14 Yard line... only to allow a 46 yard return and let the opponent score a TD with only 1 more minute on the clock.

The players were quite shook by the outcome of our game against the Ice Machine, as morale dropped surprisingly deep after the rather expectable loss. But it may be the unpleasant turn of events at the end of that game which may have led to the players being disappointed... as it could probably have been avoided by a more clever game plan in those last minutes of the 4th quarter.
The psychologists on the staff did work wonders, so we're almost back where we need to be, as we have the next tough opponent visiting today: The Blue Bunnies come to town! We've met them quite a few times since we came to the league, and our record is pretty good against them. They have one more win than us, though, and we know that they have beaten a lot of teams this season that we have not beaten in a long time. BUT... their only two losses happened in away-games for them, so maybe we can steal one from them today. Good luck to everyone! |

It's the playoffs looming, and the Devil Dolphins snuck in at #5 again, due to a good 13–3 record. A good, not great record. We only had 7 games against human managers, 2 of those being against ombis Jimtown Juggernauts who joined this season... so effectively 5 tough games to play this season, of which we lost 3. Not even good, one would think.
A very close loss in the battle for the East against the Ice Machine, in which a much needed change in terms of defensive strategy was implemented, showed, that we would have had a chance, if the offensive gameplan just was... a little bit more detailed at times. But that was worked on in the last days, as inside sources report, and the OC of the Devil Dolphins just this morning, when asked about his efforts to play some successful playoff games, had this to say: "We're happy to be here, obviously! We do follow a plan that's been laid out at the start of last season, when the front office decided to really make a push for a championship. Of course we're still not there, but we do have a pretty good team that can cause some trouble. As for the adjustments for the postseason: Of course we do our homework and look at past games about what went right and what went wrong. It's out there that we had great success with that on the defensive side, and the offense is doing that, too." It'll be interesting what these playoffs will bring for us. We have to go to the Blue Bunnies first. We just beat them past Saturday, and before that in the Wildcard Round of S76. It feels like we're due to get our behind handed to us. The Devil Dolphins will start a good squad, despite being reloading on the fly in certain parts of the roster... which could (and probably WILL) be exploited sooner rather than later. We do have some units that'll bring some heat, though: The O-Line is equipped with 4.5*-talent almost throughout, protecting a backfield with a 4.5*-QB and a 4.5*-HB. And on the other side of the ball there's a solid D-Line, that massively profitted from the adjustments around mid-season, which is backed up by a premiere 4,5* linebacking corps, many of which players being in the prime of their career. Many of the truly annoying losses in the past two seasons were those when we lost despite leading, sometimes even late in the game, when it was just about playing it safe or run down the clock. Asked about this the OC had this to say on his way out: "We still got 2 days to prepare, people, so chill. It's ok to not have the final answer 48 hours leading up to the game. We will have it then, that's for sure." Tension is building. It's the playoffs looming... |
