It’s divisional playoff time
It’s the second time in a row that the Devil Dolphins have reached this stage of the postseason. Last season they met the BobBoy Magpies in that round and lost the game in the first quarter already when the Magpies scored 21 points… more than the Dolphins scored the whole game. This time they will meet the Blue Bunnies, who they have met in the wildcard playoff round the season before the above mentioned game. Then, too, the Dolphins were not good enough to prevail. And after the lackluster performance in the second half of the game against schönspieler the hopes are not all that high that today will be any different. But maybe we can make it a bit tougher for them this time and score more than one touchdown and earlier than in the 4th quarter. We did meet them in two friendly games this season and won them both… but the squad that the Bunnies will field today very likely will be much better than it was in these games. We’ll see

It was a historical evening yesterday at the Wildbun Stadium, home of the Blue Bunnies, as the Devil Dolphins had a HUGE upset road win to advance to the conference championship game for the first time ever.
The Bunnies, who were unbeaten during the regular season and thus had the #1 seed in the AC conference, from the start of the game had problems with the aggressive defense of the Dolphins. They only had 8 (of overall 18) First Downs in the first half and only were able to score because of take aways before the break, as the RB of the Dolphins fumbled on their very first possession and the QB had his usual errant throw to be picked for a defensive TD in the second quarter. Other than these two gifts the offense of the Devil Dolphins played a pretty clean game. QB Richard Sinapati had 29 completions on 40 passing attempts for 273 Yards, with 3 TDs and the aforementioned INT, earning him a well deserved MVP for the game. And even though the rushing attack had no TD to show for it had an awesome day, too, with overall 43 Rushes for nearly 200 yards. But it was the Defense of the Devil Dolphins that was the star of the game. In the second half they only allowed one more TD and even prevented the Bunnies from scoring at all in the 4th quarter. The ride home was joyous. But many players were already preparing mentally for the tough game that's ahead, as they will meet again with the BobBoy Magpies tomorrow. The crushing loss in week 15 of the regular season, when the Magpies dismantled the Dolphins 49:3, still stings. And even though it seems unlikely that the Dolphins can have a revenge game for this loss, the game against the Bunnies showed what can be possible if everything comes together at the right time. Maybe one more historical event can happen then  |

It is a big day for the Devil Dolphins today. We're going to the Magpies Stadium to play our very first Conference Championship game, and we couldn't be more excited.
Of course: Our chances to come away with a win are pretty slim. The hometeam has overall nearly 10 % more strenght than the Devil Dolphins. And they are led by a Quarterback, Gediminas Jakstas, that has been the best QB in the world for three consecutive seasons and who has thrown for nearly 2.000 more yards and double the TDs than our very own starting QB Richard Sinapati. It sure does help that he can operate behind an awesome O-Line and has experienced and highly rated WRs to throw the ball to. But we'll try to keep it close, which would start with not letting the Magpies again score 28 unanswered points in the first half, like they did in the regular season game we played against them. Maybe then we can make something happen... but as it was said above: hopes for that are not high, and it's way more likely that this will be an educational trip at best |

As expected the Devil Dolphins lost the conference championship game against the Magpies. And while we did not let them score multiple touchdowns in the first half, we also did not score anything ourselves until late in the game... by then a win was well out of reach.
Congratulations to the BobBoy Magpies, and best of luck for their first Bowl-appearance since S64. Hopefully they can beat the White Apes
The Dolphins prepare for the new season. The squad will differ next season. Some players will have to go, some may play a different position... there's already some serious thinking going on in the offices of the coaching staff, always having the goal in mind to have the team more competitive for the next go-around |

Whoa, like always those conference championships are close. I can't count how many times I've been so lucky. This time a missed field goal, if made they would have defeated us. Was a great job by Coach Bug and the Musk Ox. In nearly 50 seasons this will be the first bowl game between the Apes and the Magpies.

What a game
When I joined the broadcast it was 31:31, with the Apes just missing the FG with 2:24 to go... and then overtime hit, with a crucial interception to seal the deal. Congrats to the White Apes on winning the 6th title in the last 7 bowl games  |
